2nd Chemo Treatment

On Monday, October 13th, I had my 2nd round of chemo. My mom and sister, Linda, went with me. Dr. Jennifer Morgan came in and talked to us. She said my blood test were good....so it was a go for the treatment. I ask her if she was considering taking my tonsils out and she said no that with lymphoma, the chemo would be taking care of it. My nurse, Jolyn, is wonderful. Like me, she grew up on a dairy farm and was in 4-H with her livestock. So it was fun to share our stories. The treatment lasted about 6 hours this time. Dr. Morgan has me set up to have another Pet scan on October 30th. Mom spent the night with me and made potato soup for me. I missed work on Tuesday but God sent me an angel.....my sister, Chris, for Wednesday. She went to work with me and helped me with all the cleaning! I gave her a work out. Ha! She is the sister who is very hard working and has a heart of gold....so it was truly a blessing to have her for the day. She also spent Tuesday night with me. My small community group from church has been bringing me meals each week which has been a tremendous help and blessing. I just really feel the fatigue and weakness. The metal taste is back and my throat and mouth are sore so I really have to work at eating and drinking. One night, I was able to go to my nephew's track meet and last Saturday evening was able to go to a weiner roast at Chris and Ernie's. So I'm always grateful when I do have the energy to do things. That would be my prayer request....that I would have daily strength and energy.

Patty, I am glad you have such a strong physical and spiritual support system in place to walk with you through this. Know that I am praying for you and that I have others praying as well. - Amy
